United Way Celebrates Money Raised
The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties is celebrating a successful campaign season.
At a community breakfast this morning at the Welcome Center in downtown Zanesville. The organization announced it raised $865,000 in the 2014/2015 campaign. Executive Director Meg Deedrick said the money is a result of a lot of hard work.
“It’s not by accident,” said Deedrick. “We are very fortunate but we’re not lucky. This didn’t happen by accident or by random chance, it was a lot of hard work by volunteers. ”
The money will benefit 23 programs in education, income, and health care. The programs were chosen based on 300 hours of review. Deedrick said The United Way will monitor the programs to insure success in the coming year.
“Not only are we investing monthly but outcomes are being produced monthly and so we’re monitoring that and communicating that with our investors and the community as much as we can, ” said Deedrick.
Awards were also given to volunteers Lisa Hillis, Tracey McClelland and John Creek. For a full list of programs allocated money you can visit the United Way’s website.
