United Way MPM is Now Scheduling Tax Clinic Appointments

ZANESVILLE, OH – Tax season is just around the corner and the United Way of MPM is here to help. They’re now scheduling appointments for their Tax Clinic.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your 2024 taxes, don’t worry, volunteers are ready to lend a hand. The United Way Tax Clinic is offering tax filing assistance for individuals with a gross income of $40,000 or less and married couples filing jointly who earn up to $50,000. The clinic will be held at the United Way’s office and will run on Tuesday’s Wednesday’s and Friday’s from 2 PM to 6 PM, and on Saturday’s from 10 AM to 2:30 PM.

United Way MPM Community Impact Coordinator, Katie Grubbs, explained why this is a great opportunity for the community.

“Just last year, when we talked with our clients, over half of them said that they used that refund on monthly bills. Just increasing their monthly budget and their financial stability is so important and especially to get 100% of that refund back and not have to pay a fee or worry about maybe not even filing,” Grubbs said.

The United Way is also looking for more volunteers to join their team. If you’d like to make a difference in your community, consider becoming a tax clinic volunteer.

“We still are in need of volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering, you can call the United Way office, and we can get you the information for training and get you set up on the volunteer schedule. We can take intake volunteers, which is registration or preparing. If you want to prepare taxes, there’s no experience needed. You do all the training through the IRS website and then we get you set up,” Tax Coordinator Melissa Lynn said.

To schedule a tax clinic appointment or to volunteer, just call 211 or 1-844-253-1161.
