United Way of MPM celebrates its new home with local leaders
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties celebrated its new home with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with a lengthy guest list on Thursday.
The team at the local United Way was joined by the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce, the Muskingum County Commissioners, Perry County Commissioner Ben Carpenter, Zanesville Mayor Don Mason, and representatives from the offices of U.S. Senator Jon Husted and U.S. Representative Troy Balderson.
The United Way was also given a proclamation from Husted recognizing their work in the community and to celebrate the new milestone for the organization.
“It felt wonderful to have our government officials that we work closely with, in order to be able to achieve all the things that we do for the 45% of our community that is working but struggling or are low income, to have their recognition of the work that we do and to show up today to support us means a great deal,” said Tracey Ballas, the CEO of the United Way of MPM.
The nonprofit organization has a mission to improve the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community. According to Ballas, the new location at the corner of Main and 5th Street in Zanesville gave them more room work towards that mission.
