ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties have announced their phase one funding cycle.

The United Way has estimated about $250,000 towards this funding and is looking for agencies that align with their financial stability pillar, education pillar, and reducing food insecurity community goals.

“We actually have an investment committee that reviews these applications, which is why this time we are requiring a letter of intent that just gives our investment committee an idea of the quantity of applications so they can prepare to review all of these,” Grubbs stated.

The letter of intent is located on the United Way MPM website that includes a form, a letter and the IRS 501C3 document.

Grubbs provides some recommendations to the agencies looking to submit an application and says it’s best to start early, and to ask as many questions.

“Especially during this phase, we’re actually recommending that everyone meet with myself, the community impact coordinator, just so there is information that the investment committee would be looking for and just to make sure everything is in there so that they can make their best recommendation,” Grubbs said.

The letter of intent is due on April 8th and the phase one application is due on April 25th

There is also an evaluation tool that goes along with the application and letter of intent, which all can be found on the website at unitedwayofmpm.org.
