United Way’s Tax Clinic Underway
ZANESVILLE, OH – Monday was the first day for the United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties Free Tax Clinic.
Katie Grubbs, the Community Impact Coordinator for the United Way, said this program is really beneficial for the community.
“This program is really important for community members that have low income,” Grubbs said. “Those that maybe wouldn’t be able to afford a fee when they get their taxes done through, like a service or local accountant. This program really comes in and gives those community members the ability to use 100% of their return and not have that fee. A lot of them when they come in they’re using this refund for groceries and bills. We want to make sure they can utilize that full amount.”
The Tax Clinic is open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2 to 6 PM and on Saturdays from 10:30 to 12:30 PM.
Grubbs said the process is still the same, you can call 211 and make an appointment.
“We do also like to say that there is an 844 number for 211,” Grubbs said. “So, if 211 doesn’t work or you just want to make sure you get to the right place the 844 number is, 1-844-253-1161. You can also call that number to get an appointment.”
Grubbs also said spots for the Tax Clinic are filling up fast. You can call either 211 or 1-844-253-1161 to make your appointment.
