UPDATE: Fire Destroys Dresden Home

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in Dresden.

Around 8 p.m. on Friday, crews from the Dresden and Falls Township Fire Departments were called to 21 East Sixth Street.  Dresden Fire Chief Carl Archer told WHIZ that a family of four was renting the home.

Archer said the damage is estimated at about $140,000, and the home is considered a total loss.  The family is being assisted by the Muskingum Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.
