UPDATE: Muskingum River ice jam breaking apart

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The ice jam on the Muskingum River is now breaking into smaller chunks.

Jeff Jadwin, Muskingum County Emergency Management Director, said that the ice jam moved and water was rising in the area of Riverside Airport Road, but has since gone down.

Jadwin is still advising residents to be prepared to evacuate if necessary.
