UPDATE: Suspect Arrested After Fatal Shooting

UPDATE: July 11 9:30 p.m:  According to Sgt. Jon McCoy of the Zanesville Police Department, the suspect, 23-year-old Tequane Ali Boxley, was arrested Saturday evening.  Authorities found him on Indiana Street shortly after 7:00 p.m.  He was taken into custody without incident.

UPDATE July 11 3:30 p.m: Witnesses advised that the incident occured at Dairy Mart on the corner of Pine St. and Baker St. and the victim was transported in the vehicle to the West Main and State St. location near Exxon where he was found.He was then transported to Genesis Hospital at that time.

The suspected gunman has been identified as Tequane Ali Boxley. He is described as a black male, age 23. There is a warrant out for his arrest. Anyone with information about the suspect is encouraged to contact the Zanesville Police Department at (740) 455-0700.

 

The Zanesville Police Department said one man is dead after a shooting incident that occurred late Friday evening.

ZPD was dispatched to a local business at the corner of West Main and State Street at 11:21 p.m. Friday night.

They discovered the victim in the front passenger seat of a car. He was unresponsive and suffering from gun shot wounds. The man was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police said a suspected gunman was identified and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
