**UPDATE**Hostage Situation on Devin Street

Zanesville Police are currently dealing with a hostage situation in the 1200 block of Devin Street.

The incident began around 11:00 a.m. when Zanesville police arrived on scene along with the ZPD swat team.  Two people were being held hostage in the residence by the suspect.

Around 12:40 p.m. police took both hostages, a man and a woman, out of the house.  They were both checked by medics and appear to be okay.

At. 2:20 p.m. officers shot tear gas into the house and were able to take the suspect into custody.

The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit also responded to the scene.
