US Post Office Working Hard To Deliver Christmas Cheer
It always starts to feel like the holidays when those Christmas cards begin to roll in.
Unfortunately, if you didn’t get your cards in the mail today then they probably won’t arrive at their destination before Christmas.
"As far as the mail’s concerned if you don’t have your Christmas cards mailed by now you’re probably too late," said US Post Office employee, Phil Dodson. "Packages you’ll be receiving more then you’ll be mailing out it’s almost too late for that too. The express mail packages is of course a guaranteed service you can still mail up to Christmas Eve for the express mail packages, but other then that the rush is pretty much over for the mailing season of Christmas."
The Post Office at Mcintire Avenue in Zanesville is working hard to ensure your Christmas gifts are under your tree Christmas morning. Many extra workers were hired during the holiday season to help, and mail carriers are out until dark delivering mail up until Christmas Eve.
"We will not be delivering Christmas Day, of course, but we may be delivering packages, likely very likely we will. New years day we will not be delivering packages," said Dodson.
The post office is in the midst of their busiest season, but they say they are working hard to make sure everyone has a Merry Christmas.
