Utility Billing Division updates
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Some minor changes have been made to simplify how residents view their water bill.
For the last year, new software has been in the process of being implemented for the Utility Billing Division. Public Safety and Community Development Director Jay Bennett says the new software is friendly and interactive.
“The software system affords us and the customers a lot more options and opportunities. Absolutely all information on the new bill is what the old bill has as well. It’s more interactive with us as staff and more friendly. We can do different reports now, look at different trends to make decisions from that the other software did not have those capabilities. Again, it offers more options for our customers to pay their bill,” said Bennett.
Along with the option of payment by phone, the new system also offers customers the opportunity to pay their bill using a credit card without the extra hassle it’s been in the past.
“You can see the history table so our customers will be able to see this month versus several other months and what their usage is. That’s something we didn’t have before so a lot of different tools. The software also allows us to do a little different credit card system, payment by credit card. We want to thank our customers. It was a big big challenge for the city,” said Bennett.
