Velma Ruth Johnson Huntsman , 83y,0m,17d of Zanesville died at 8:48 PM Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Brookdale Senior Living .
She was born on Wednesday, May 21, 1941 in Zanesville OH the daughter of William R Johnson and Eloise Thorla Johnson.
Velma was a member of First Christian Church and a proud graduate of New Concord High School class of 1959, an active alumni member who always attended and helped organize the class reunions. She worked for 64 years as a beautician, the occupation she loved, and was also owner & operator of the The Hair Hunters of Cambridge for nearly 40 years. She enjoyed decorating, sewing and especially enjoyed playing cards with her lifelong friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane Abrams; step children, Scott (Misty Rose ) Huntsman, Diane (Fred ) Mottice, Deb Huntsman ( Joe Pendleton ), Vicki ( Dan Givens ) Huntsman, Valerie (Ed) Clewell; twelve grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; and her fur baby, Harper. In addition to her parents, Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Kennon D. Huntsman.
Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 13, 2024 with funeral service at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Hunt officiating. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
