Venita Smith

Venita F. Smith, 40, formerly of Roseville, departed this life unexpectedly on March 1, 2025, in the Genesis Emergency Department, Zanesville. Born on September 27, 1984, in Zanesville, Venita was a spirited and loving individual who touched the lives of many. She was the cherished daughter of Clarence “Monk” Smith and the late Deborah (Kinney) Smith. Venita’s life was enriched by her beloved children, Blaney Taylor, Rylan Taylor, and Braydon (Kessa) Taylor, her adored granddaughter, Aurora O’Neill and her husband and father of her children, Ryan Taylor. Venita’s legacy of love and laughter is also carried on by her siblings, Shandy (Jason) Mizer, Nicole Bookless, Carrie Ellis, Aaron Johnson, and Carin Taylor, as well as her treasured nieces and nephews, Dominic (Taelee) Barbour, Hannah (Dalton) Ihinger, Hunter Mizer, Madison Bookless, James Bookless Jr. and special family friend, Kristi Newville. Venita demonstrated her skills and work ethic as a team leader at Love’s Truck Stop, a role she held with pride until her health made it impossible for her to continue her work. Venita’s reserved demeanor was complemented by her hobbies; she had a passion for crafting and cherished the time spent with her granddaughter. Though she had a funny personality, Venita was known for her preference for intimate gatherings over large crowds. A celebration of life will be held Thursday March 6, 2025, from 4pm – 6pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville, where family and friends are invited to come and share their cherished memories and stories of Venita.
