Vernon E. Armstrong, 76 of Zanesville, passed away at 9:30 pm Monday April 16, 2012.

Vernon was born September 22, 1935 in Zanesville the son of the late Lester Armstrong Sr and Leola (Clark) Armstrong. He worked at the Ohio Ferro Alloy and he retired in 1992 from Novco. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman and he enjoyed life to the fullest.

Vernon is survived by his children Theresa (Doug) Ballard of Naples FL, Arthur (Joan) Armstrong of Zanesville, James (Mindy) Armstrong of Zanesville, Eric (Robin) Armstrong of Zanesville, Keith (Lisa) Armstrong of Philo, Crystal Phelps and Verna Haney both of IN; his brother Lester jr (Denise) Armstrong of McConnelsville; his grandchildren Angela Richey, Chelsea Ballard, Misty Gabriel, Kyle Armstrong, Christina Kinney and Veronica Kain; his great-grandchildren DJ Richey, Katy Richey, Chase and Hunter Brown, Lane Kinney, Slade Armstrong, Ethan Etters, Brooklyn and Brennan Armstrong and several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Vernon is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Armstrong who passed away in March 2009, brother Delmar Armstrong and his K-9 companion Lady B.

In keeping with his wishes his body will be cremated and a private memorial services will be held at a later date.
