Veteran’s Day Parade

Hundreds of people made their way to downtown Zanesville this morning for the annual Veterans Day Parade.

The parade started at the Secrest Suditorium on Shinnick Street, headed south on 6th Street and turned right on Main Street before heading back to the Secrest Auditorium. Zanesville’s very own james reed says he enjoyed the parade because it honors someone he holds dear to his heart.

"Well I think it’s a wonderful place to be here today, my father was an american WWII Veteran in the air force and he isn’t with us, so my daughter’s in the parade dressed as WAC a today, and it’s a pleasure to be here."

People of all ages could be seen enjoying the parade, but even the young children who attended the parade know the real reason why we honor our veterans.

"My favorite part is that everyone just comes out and enjoys and celebrates like the Veteran’s Day Parade and they like, salute the veterans and stuff."

If you missed the parade, it’s not too late to honor your local veterans. Veteran’s day is Tuesday, November 11.
