Victim in Newark Accident Passes Away

The Newark Police Department reports one of the drivers in a Sunday morning accident has passed away. 

Police said 66-year-old David Ehlermann died Monday afternoon at Ohio State University Medical Center as a result of his injuries sustained in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of West Main Street and Union Street in Newark, on Sunday. 

The driver of the other vehicle remains hospitalized. 

Newark Police said technical data from the vehicles and toxicology reports are being collected and once all evidence is gathered the case will be presented to the prosecutor’s office for any charges.
