Violet L. Cox, 86, of Gaysport Hill Road, Blue Rock passed away 4:20 PM, January 26, 2012 at the hospice unit in Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Violet was born September 9, 1925 in Columbus, the daughter of the late William and Ethel Boring French. She was a house wife, avid gardener and worked on the family farm.

Violet is survived by one daughter Judy (Sam) Roberts of Blue Rock; one son, Daniel (Sharon Theisen) Cox of Blue Rock; a sister, Veda Hughes of Grove City; two brothers, William (Leora) French of Groveport and Donald (Alma) French of Blue Rock; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Violet is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Samuel S. Cox who passed away March 14, 2008; her sisters Virginia Hughes and Vera French; her brothers Harold, Richard, and Loren French.

Friends may call 2 to 5 PM Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 at the Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls where the funeral will be 11 am Monday with the Rev. Chuck Norris officiating.
