Virgile Raymond DeLong (April 23, 1930 – November 12, 2011)
Virgil Raymond DeLong, 81, of Roseville went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Good Samaritan Emergency Room.
Virgil was born in Pleasantville on April 23, 1930 to the late Virgil B. and Martha Luellen DeLong. Virgil was a retired truck driver for Roadway Express. Virgil was a life member of the VFW in Cambridge, Teamsters, and was a dedicated member of The Roseville Church of the Nazarene. Virgil served our country and protected our Freedom by serving in the US Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Mary Jane Scott DeLong of the home, his children: Gloria DeLong, Diana DeLong, Diana Brewster, Cynthia Kessler, Scott (Alice) Selby, Debra (Jeff) Brown, Russell (Cheryl) DeLong, and Jeffrey DeLong. A brother Ronald (Joy) DeLong, a sister Wanda Como, 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and four great-great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons Randy Grimm ,Sr. and Steven M. DeLong, a daughter Wanda Tipton, a granddaughter Wendy Johnson, two brothers and a sister.
Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8pm on Wednesday November 16 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME,1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday at The Roseville Church of the Nazarene, 7835 Rose Hill Road, Roseville with Pastor Kip Miller officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
