Virginia Frances Pletcher (June 30, 1923 – December 29, 2011)

Virginia Frances Pletcher, 88, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. Virginia was born in Fellowsville, W.V. June 30, 1923, to the late Virgil and Nellie Alice Sidwell Clarkson. She was a graduate of Deavertown High School and Ohio University. Virginia was a school teacher at Little Hocking, Chesterhill, Junction City, Rushville and Thornville; retiring from Thornville in 1978. . She was a member of the Retired Teacher’s Association. Virginia was a kind and caring person and a friend to all who knew her.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Margaret Ann Withrow of Lancaster, Ohio, two grandchildren: Jennifer (Tony) Withrow and Virgil T. (Heather) Withrow of Lancaster and 12 great-grandchildren: Anna, Zyler, Lori Ann, Robbie, Julie, Devin, Wyatt, Christopher, Damien, Aiden, Alaina, and Amelia.
Virginia is also survived by special friends Mildred Miller, Ruby Barnes, and Art (Eileen) June. A special thanks to everyone at Lan-Fair for their great care.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband T. Ray Pletcher.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE, OH. Funeral services will be held in the Snouffer Chapel at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 4, officiated by Rev. Henry Cadwell and Pastor Cheryl Fulk. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery in Portersville, Oh.
