Virginia Resident Killed in Guernsey Co. Crash
A resident of Virginia is killed in an accident involving a commercial tractor trailer.
The Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that just before 8:30 Wednesday night 32-year-old Mengisteab Kifle of Harrisonburg, Virginia was traveling west on Interstate 70 near Quaker City when the tractor trailer crashed.
Authorities said the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, overturned, struck a sign and embankment. When the vehicle came to rest it caught fire with the driver still inside.
The Patrol said Kifle was pronounced dead at the scene by the Guernsey County Coroner. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash which is still under investigation.
