Voluntary Assistance

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Natural disasters often require major cleanup efforts that require a little extra planning and organizing before things even get started. 

Zanesville, Ohio Stake Center President Craig Bell said that a crew from his organization worked with the Village of Roseville two-weeks-ago to assist in some of their cleanup efforts and will be making the trip to Crooksville Saturday morning with 200 volunteers, a hotdog truck and free t-shirts to help with efforts there. 

“We’re going to set up at the park, going to start at 8 o’clock, have a prayer,” Bell said. “We’re going to… we’ve been working with the village council and Lacey Tumblin and Dyrall Newlon, the Fire Chief. So the fire chief’s going to be there, they’ve got some work orders that they’ve collected and we’re going to pass those out.” Bell said. “If there are individuals that need some assistance, we’d invite them to come to the park and raise your hand if you need help. We’ll send a crew that way.”

Bell talked about how his organization reached out to community leaders for a list of tasks that they prioritize so that the volunteers can get assigned duties to complete those tasks more efficiently.

“The village has been collecting work orders, ” Bell said. “We’re going to get those assignments tomorrow. So we’ll divvy up the work and based on what types of things they’re needing at that location.”

If you have an interest in helping neighbors in need, volunteers will be gathering at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning at the Crooksville Village Park.
