Volunteers needed for Operation Feed

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Operation Feed will be gearing up soon and your help is needed to make it a success.
Operation Feed is a series of events held throughout the beginning of summer that helps raise money to feed families in need in Muskingum County. The first meeting for anyone who would like to help is next Monday, March 12th.
“‘Tis the season for our community to get involved. For our businesses, our churches, our individuals and everybody,” said Keely Warden the Executive Director at Christ’s Table. “Anybody that’s interested in hunger and wants to know how they can help their community, Operation Feed is that one time of the year that we come to the community, we ask them to help, and it’s started.”
Warden said Operation Feed officially kicks off in April. There are several fundraising events during that time including at Mother’s Day flower sale, a sub sale, and the highly anticipated “Pie in the Face” wrap-up. Warden said the funds raised helps the food service programs in the community.
“There’s 15 food pantries and 4 hot meal programs here in Muskingum County and last year alone we served almost 950 thousand meals to those residents of Muskingum County. So that’s why we do what we do and that’s why we ask for your help,” said Warden.
The Steering Committee meeting will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army.
