Walter “Butch” Touvell
Walter “Butch” Touvell, 78 of Zanesville, passed away on August 28, 2024, at Genesis Hospital.
He was born on August 5, 1946, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Ralph Touvell and Dorothy Adams. Roekel Company for over 30 plus years and later at Buckeye Citation Supply and Winnelson Supply. Butch was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeye fan. He loved his hot/spicy foods and cracking jokes. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and spending his time with his family and loved ones.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Shirley Touvell; sons, Troy (Stacey Kern) Touvell, Heath (Lesley) Touvell; daughter, Denise (Jerry) Myers; stepdaughters, Rebecca (Bill) Westwood, Kristena (Leonardo) Pedraza; sisters, Ruth Burkett, Dorthy (John) Mitchell; 11 grandchildren: Dylan Westwood, Landry Westwood, Lilli Pedraza, Marco Pedraza, Michael (Val) Quinlan, Joshua Quinlan, Tyler Quinlan, Normandy (Brandon) Stapleton, Jack Touvell, Khloe Touvell, Taylor Moultrie; 6 great-grandchildren: Vivienne Moultrie, Bailey Quinlan, Xander Quinlan, Lukas Stapleton, London Stapleton, Brixton Ames, and 1 on the way; special friends, Jon Dickson, Mike Lightfoot, Doug (Deb) Phyllis, Tom Smith; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Touvell; 4 siblings: Ralph “Sonny” Touvell, Betty Lutz, Joyce Cook, and Cecil Soller; granddaughter, McKenna Touvell; brother-in-law, Paul Burkett; special dogs, Jordan, Marley, and Squirt; special monkey, Jojo.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Innovations Renal Care Kidney Care Center of Zanesville Ohio or Genesis Hospice Morrison House of Zanesville.
Calling hours will be held on Friday August 30, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, where services will be held at 7:00 PM with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Per Butch’s wishes, a dignified cremation will take place following services.
