Walter Plotts

Walter L. Plotts, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Crooksville on June 28, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on November 13, 1935, on Walnut Street in Crooksville, Walter was a lifelong resident of the town he loved. He was the beloved son of the late Earl W. and Frances (Gossman) Plotts, devoted husband to his late wife, Ann (Tague) Plotts, and a loving father to his daughters, Debbie Plotts and Elizabeth “Beth” Plotts. Walter’s legacy continues through his adoring grandchildren, Kayla (Dustin) Ross, Amanda (Robie) Baker, Jennifer (Shawn Pickering) Plotts, and Amber (Jeff) Norris. He was also a proud great-grandfather to several great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandfather to three. His sister, Judy Hutchins, his niece and nephews, Michele Carmichael, Mike (Carol) Hutchins, Marty (Barb) Hutchins, and Eric (Candy) Hutchins, and his special great-nieces, Paige and McKenzie, will hold dear the memory of his kind and friendly nature. For many years, Walter was a dedicated laborer at Superior Fibers in Bremen, from which he retired and prior to that served his country proudly in the United States Army. Walter’s interests were as unique as they were a testament to his ingenuity and skill. He had a talent for working on mowers and automobiles, and he even built his very own go-kart, starting with a gas motor from an old washer. Always out and about, Walter was a fixture around town and in various areas where he enjoyed sharing stories, lending a listening ear and visiting with his special friends at Shriver’s. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Walter will remember him for his friendly demeanor and kind heart. He was the sort of person who made a lasting impression on everyone he met, and his absence will be deeply felt by many. Welcoming him into Heaven along with his parents and wife, were his son, Jeffrey Plotts, and his special nephew, Jody Hutchins. No calling hours or services will be observed at the honored request by Walter and a dignified cremation will take place under the direction of Ross-Frash Funeral Homes, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville.
