War Veteran Surprises His Wife on their Anniversary

We begin tonight with a heartwarming story of the Zanesville Police and Fire Departments helping surprise the wife of a war veteran.

This evening, Matt Lincicome, an Afghanistan War Veteran, surprised his wife on their anniversary with a little help from their family and the Zanesville police and fire department. Lincicome had been overseas, and his wife didn’t know he had returned home. We spoke with Matt’s aunt, Sue Darby, who says they have never been together on their anniversary before.

"Three years ago, and he was there for three months, but he’s go to go back again. He’s been in the service for a little over four years now."

The couple is expecting their first baby late this summer, and unfortunately, Lincicome will be over seas during that time. Darby says she’s happy they get to share this special night together.

"I love him and I helped raise him. So, it’s great and it’s great that the police department and the fire department helped out. I think it really shows that people still care."

The couple was taken to Long Horn Steak house by the Fire Department to enjoy their anniversary dinner.
