Waynette Dodson

Dawn Waynette Tackett Dodson, born August 3, 1967, in Ashland, Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by the love of her family on May 5, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of Donald Wayne Tackett and Kay Tackett.
Waynette was a devoted and loving wife to Phil Dodson, filled with deep love and cherished companionship. She was a proud and caring mother to her daughter, Ami Jo Howell, and a deeply devoted grandmother to Leah and Paislee Tackett and Elijah Howell, who were the light of her life.
She was a loving sister to Levisa (Todd) Hughes and Adam Tackett, a treasured aunt to Tad (Heather) Hughes, Rachel (Joey) Briggs, Lania Tackett, and Lilly Tackett, and a proud great-aunt to Sophia Briggs.
She also lovingly embraced her role as a stepmother to Kyle (Tessi) Dodson, Kendyl (Adam) Nelson, Kaden Dodson, and Zoe Dodson, and as a step-grandmother to Klayre, Kason, and Kora.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Zackary Wayne Tackett.
Waynette devoted 23 years of dedicated service to North Valley Bank, including 20 years in the role of Human Resource Manager, where she was respected for her professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to others. She never said no to anyone who needed help. She was also a proud graduate of West Muskingum High School.
Waynette will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the deep and abiding love she had for her family. Her warm spirit, thoughtful gifts, and caring heart touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ohio State University Foundation.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday May 8, 2026 with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage with Pastor Dave Duff officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park.
