Weaver Sentencing Today
A former Muskingum University student convicted of killing her newborn daughter will be back in court, Monday.
Emile Weaver, of Clarington, was found guilty in May of aggravated murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
She faces up to a maximum of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
During her four day trial Weaver testified she was in denial during her pregnancy, but had a good idea she was pregnant.
On April 22, 2015, the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office said they were contacted by Muskingum University Police requesting assistance with a report of a newborn baby found dead on campus.
The Muskingum County Coroner ruled the baby was alive at birth and authorities found it in a tightly closed plastic bag in a trash receptacle. The coronor ruled the cause of death as asphyxiation.
