E-M-A Director Jeff Jadwin says the river is down a little at Dresden but remains high at Ellis Dam and at Terrace Shores/Gilbert station. Jadwin says there is flooding at Kirkbride Marina and at Riverside Park. The notice to be prepared to evacuate if you live on the river remains in effect.

Press Release: Ice Jam on Muskingum River AM Report
The Muskingum County EMA along with numerous other agencies continued to
monitor the water level on the Muskingum River. The National Weather Service
reported a dramatic drop overnight in the river gauge at Dresden.
Gene Cox Memorial Drive and Stillwell Road areas show lowered water. There is still flooding at the Dresden Park beside the school. The water has gone up from Ferry Road downstream to the Y Bridge. This includes the following areas. Ellis Dam, Gilbert Station, Terrace Shores, Kirkbride Marina, and Riverside Park.
The large jam at Terrace Shores & Gilbert Station has not changed at this time.
Anyone that lives along the river needs to be conscious of fast-rising water. If you
are aware of a person with special needs or is handicapped and would need
assistance getting out please notify the EMA Office at 740-453-1655 or the Fire
Department that covers the area where that person lives. The American Red Cross has been working with us and is ready to assist as needed. No shelters are open at this time because no one has called us needing assistance.
Those individuals not living close to the Muskingum River have nothing to worry
about at this time. If anything changes we will notify you as soon as it changes.
