Well Known Area Woman Dies

A well known Zanesville woman has died. 81-year-old Alice Mauk – who passed away Monday – served as the Executive Director of the Zanesville YWCA and retired as Public Relations Director of the Muskingum County Library System. But Mauk was more than that she was a person who dedicated herself to the community by becoming involved in many organizations including Chair of the Genesis HealthCare Foundation. She also had a passion for theater and was actively involved for the past 36 years by performing and directing in over 100 productions for community theaters. Friends may call Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Hills Combs & Nestor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at Secrest Auditorium at 11:00 a.m. Mauk will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park.
