West Muskingum Elementary School Annual Festival

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – West Muskingum Elementary School is raising money all while incorporating fun and games.
West Muskingum Elementary’s Annual Festival is a day where students, their families, and the community can come together to support the school. A group of volunteers planned the festival months in advance and will be setting up the event and conducting the festival games. The festival will feature a silent auction where people can bid on different items and have a chance to win baskets put together by the classes in the school. There will also be plenty of activities for children like inflatable obstacle courses, bounce houses, cake walks, and more.
“Because there’s fun things to do, and to raise money for like COSI and stuff,” said 2nd grader, Camryn Melsheimer.
This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for West Muskingum. The funds from this event stay within the school providing for the activities and programs for the students. Some of these include COSI On Wheels, classroom supply grants, technology purchases, music recorders for third and fourth grades, and support for the Art Department.
“We really try and update things and make it so that it’s new and exciting every year so that the kids continue to want to come and love being able to be here. We’re really at the end of the day just here to support the kids and support our school and our staff,” said Festival Chairperson, Michelle Check.
West Muskingum Elementary’s Annual Festival takes place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
