West Muskingum High School hosts monthly food drive

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Saturday, many lined the doors of West Muskingum High School for their monthly produce market.
Among the volunteers was high school sophomore, Kaleb Ihlendfeld, who has been volunteering since the event began.
“Usually when everything first comes in we have to go get everything off the things and then we bring it in. Then we have to bag things and separate everything so we can get ready, and that we start handing out food. I’ve been here since the very first one last summer so it’s been really fun. Just hearing back everyone and all of their thanks, it really means a lot to me,” said Ihlendfeld.
First time attendee, Malinda Scott said she’s very thankful that events like these are implemented here in Muskingum County.
“I love it. they’re wonderful people. they help me out and help my kids out. Anybody that’s in need and needs help, get it. There’s a lot of people out here that’s going without and don’t have nothing and don’t have no money to get anything,” said Scott.
The next one will be held on April 7th at the administration office.
