West Muskingum School Board Meets To Discuss Falls Elementary

Representatives from Falls Elementary voiced their concerns about their school at the West Muskingum Board Meeting Wednesday evening.

The issues have been going on for about two years now, but have worsened this school year. According to the presentation overview, black water drains down the walls and onto the floors. Buckets and cans litter the building to catch falling debris and water from puddling. Carpets are unable to dry, and up until last Monday, teachers had to hold a bucket over their heads when they used faculty restrooms to catch dripping water. These are only a few of a long list of issues with the building. Teachers have fallen ill due to the poor building conditions, and safety concerns have been expressed by the students. Construction to fix the problem is scheduled to begin next month. WHIZ will continue to follow the story and bring you more information as it becomes available.
