West Muskingum Twisters host first outdoor market

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Community members danced over to West Muskingum High School today for a “yard sale.”

The West Muskingum Twisters dance team held their first annual outdoor market this afternoon. They say that they have a lot of used props and equipment, and instead of just throwing it away, they decided to sell it to those that might get use out of it.

“We have a lot of old props that we have collected over the years, have been built, bought– and a lot of them are still in really great condition. So we wanted to find a way to be able to re-use those, and get a little bit more use out of them instead of just tossing them,” explained Josie Cover, one of the coaches for the Twisters.

While this is the first summer, outdoor market that the Twisters have organized, they do hold a holiday bazaar in the fall where local vendors come together and they set up a small table if the girls have any items that they may want to sell.

Aside from the team’s old props and community donations, other local businesses attended the market as well. The team intends to use the funds raised for several needs they have prior to this coming season.

“We have a Lularoe consultant, we have a Paparazzi consultant, we have a Pure Romance consultant doing beauty products. We have a food truck out here, Bo J’s Southern Eats. Today’s funds are going to go towards brand new fall uniforms for the girls, also along with going to dance camp, and also paying for dance competitions,” Hillary Lupusoru, another coach for the Twisters.

The Twisters consists of eight girls from West Muskingum High School. They perform at all football games, home and away, as well as competitions.
