ZANESVILLE, OH – With Thanksgiving just days away, shoppers at the Colony Square Mall are already getting into the holiday spirit. WHIZ reporter, Shylin Costello, stopped by to ask them two simple questions: what’s their favorite Thanksgiving food, and what part of the holiday they love most.

For many, the answer to that first question was an easy one… turkey. Others said mashed potatoes, stuffing, and homemade pies.

Shoppers enthusiastically listed their favorites:

  • “Turkey.”

  • “The stuffing—and I also love all the homemade desserts that day.”

  • “Pumpkin pie.”

  • “Mashed potatoes.”

  • “Sweet potato casserole.”

  • “Green bean casserole.”

  • “Yams.”

  • “Turkey and stuffing together.”

While Thanksgiving foods sparked plenty of passion, many mall-goers shared that their favorite part of the holiday has nothing to do with what’s on the table, but who’s gathered around it.

For most, the heart of Thanksgiving is time spent with loved ones:

  • “Gathering with family.”

  • “Spending time with my family.”

  • “All of the family gathering around and enjoying each other.”

One shopper summed it up simply:

“Eating the turkey.” — reminding us that for some, the meal is the moment.

Whether it’s the dishes they look forward to or the people they cherish most, shoppers at Colony Square Mall agree that Thanksgiving is a chance to pause, connect, and appreciate the moments that matter.
