Where to Get Your Flu & COVID Vaccines on Oct. 16th

ZANESVILLE, OH – Fall means pumpkins, football, and flu shots! Here’s where you can get yours this year.
In past years, the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department’s vaccine clinic was held at the fairgrounds. But this fall, things are a little different. On October 16th, you’ll be able to get your flu and COVID vaccines at three different locations. Shots will be offered at the Health Department from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Tri-Valley Fire District from noon to 3, and the Center for Seniors from 11 a.m. to 1.
“What matters the most is for our residents to understand that at the Health Department, we are very adamant about how important these vaccines are. Both the flu vaccines and the COVID vaccine. We want to make sure that as many residents get it as possible. We are trying to make it as efficient and as easy as possible for our residents.” ZMCHD Medical Director, Dr. Jack Butterfield said.
In addition to the vaccine clinics, the Health Department’s mobile health unit is going on a “flu clinic tour”, making stops at different locations on different days. You can find the full schedule on their website. Health experts say vaccines are especially important this time of year, with colder months bringing more chances for illness to spread.
“These vaccines are very important. We are right on the verge of getting into flu and cold season, and now it’s flu, cold, and COVID season. It’s important that people get the vaccines. It takes about two weeks to develop the immune response you want to protect yourself. So, the sooner you get it, the better.” Dr. Butterfield said.
The clinics are by appointment only to minimize wait times. You can register by scanning the QR code on the Health Department’s Facebook page or by calling their office at (740) 454-9751.
