WHIZ’s Military Salute Winner: Ashley Adams

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – WHIZ is proud to announce another winner of the Military Salute Photo Contest, Ashley Adams.

Adams was a Staff Sergeant in the Airforce where she wrote government contracts. She had been deployed three times over her eight years of service and was joined by her parents as she was presented a flag made by Annin Flag Company in Coshocton, Ohio. Now Adams and her family are run an award winning winery.

“We bought the Headley Inn out on Route 40 West in 2015 and we opened as a bed and breakfast and event venue.,” said Adams. “And about three and a half years ago we transitioned into a winery. So we’ve been a winery for about three and half years. We have nine medals for our wines total and we just won our first gold medal. ”

Adams was presented her American flag at Dutro Ford Lincoln Nissan by Brian Cartwright, who said that he loves being able to thank veterans for taking care of our country.

“It was pretty awesome. I mean her mother and fathers with her, both veterans as well, from the Marine Corps. And she was in the Airforce so a whole family, you know, of veterans here today. And then as they said, they started their own winery here in town so we wish them the best,” Cartwright said.
