Willard Bryan

Willard E. Bryan, 88 of Zanesville, died 11:22 AM, Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Genesis Hospital. He was born Sunday, October 21, 1934, in Zanesville the son of Willard F. Bryan and Frances J. (Arnold) Bryan. He married Donna J. (Hubbard) Bryan on Saturday, May 19, 1979, and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
Willard was a veteran of the United States Army, and continued his dedication and service to his country as a member of the Army National Guard for over 27 years. He was a Design Draftsman for McGraw Edison for over 27 years, and following their closure, he was a Graphic Artist for 5’B’s until his retirement.
Willard was an avid sportsman playing tennis, table tennis, bowling, basketball, baseball and golf. It was said he loved to play any sport with a ball, for the exception of football. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who greatly enjoyed the time he spent with his family.
Willard is survived by his wife: Donna Bryan; five children, Melody (Brian) Mullins of San Antonio, TX, Lisa (Kevin) Bryan of Zanesville, Michelle Bryan of Zanesville, Shannon (Joel) Hansel of Willoughby Hills and Jon (Meredith) Smith of North Canton; ten grandchildren, Alexander Hansel, Chase, Noah & Hunter Alfman, Laura & Jolene Mullins, Elaine & Ainsley Smith and Bob & Beth Bryan; two great grandchild, Chayton & Liam; one brother, Chuck (Dee) Bryan of Beaver, many nieces, nephews and cousins including a special niece, LeeAnn Brune of Zanesville and one daughter-in-law, Sherry Bryan of McConnelsville.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark Bryan and one brother, Don Bryan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Friday, May 19, 2023, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 1020 East Main Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant. Willard will be laid to rest in the family plot at Mt. Olive Cemetery with the United States Army and VFW Post 1058 conducting Full Military Honors.
