William Sims, Jr.

William Lee Sims, Jr., 54, of Zanesville, passed away at 12:06 a.m. Tuesday January 9, 2024 at Genesis Hospital. He was born on December 17, 1969 in Zanesville, a son of the late Farriey Fay (Fields) Sims and William Lee Sims, Sr. He graduated from Maysville High School, served in the United States Air Force from 1988-1992 where he earned the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, SW Asia Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Bill never met a stranger and he loved to work on cars. He is survived by his wife Jill (Reed) Sims. One daughter Sarah Sims. Two sons Jacob Sims (Avery Oliver) and Ethan Sims. One sister Ronda (Bud) Sims. Brother-in-laws Jeff Reed and Michael Potter. Sister-in-laws Jennifer (Ron) Dalzell and Jodi (Danny) Warne. Nephews Alec (AJ) Sims, Josh Dalzell, Dalton Warne, Alex Warne. Nieces Madison Sims and Jessica Dalzell. Father and mother-in-law Gary and Judie Reed. Numerous cousins and his special dog Dodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Eric Sims. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday January 27, 2024 from 6:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. at the Zanesville American Legion Post #29, 27 South 3rd Street Zanesville.
