Willow Haven’s Hawaiian Luau Extravaganza

Willow Haven Care Center’s summer concert series brought in a large crowd Thursday.

Residents were treated to a Hawaiian Luau Extravaganza. Hawaiian themed refreshments were also available for attendees to enjoy. Event coordinator, Stoey Stout says this is just the first of many summer events.

“We have real Hawaiian dancers, we have fire dancers, it’s a lot of fun the audience gets involved it’s great,” he said. “They can expect to become part of the show here tonight, naturally the fire dancing is reserved for our professionals, but everybody can wave their arms a little and do a Hawaiian dance.”

Stout said that with the concerts becoming such a success in recent years, the public is now invited to partake in the festivities as well.

“This is really fun for our residents, it’s like bringing a little bit of Las Vegas into Zanesville,” he said. “The residents love it, the families love it, and now we’re inviting the community. We’ve been doing this for years, but we just decided to start inviting the community in.”

Stout said the concerts are a way to give back to the community. They will be having yet another concert next week at the Cedar Hill Care Center.
