Winter Storm Warning – Big Snow Day

Get Ready for 6 to 9 inches of Snow!

The initial batch of moisture is likely going to be the heaviest. Keep in mind that the snow will initially be dry and powdery because the air is still very cold. This will allow the snow to add up quickly through Saturday morning.

The snow will likely lighten up around midday and then a second wave will move through during the afternoon. The snow will again be moderate to heavy at times. The snow will also become a wetter and heavier snow through the day, as warmer air is drawn into the region. Despite this, expect a mainly snow event across the area. There could be a little mixing well south late in the day. However, the mix/rain line is not going to have much success lifting to the north. The moisture will be ending by 6 or 7 p.m. anyway.
