Woman in Court for Hitting Man with Car
A woman who lost her license for life after causing a fatal accident, was in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Wednesday charged with hitting a Philo man last month.
43-year-old Tammy Hasselberger of Zanesville pled not-guilty to a third-degree-felony charge of driving under a lifetime suspension and a third-degree-felony charge of aggravated vehicular assault.
The South Zanesville Police Department says Hasselberger hit 62-year-old David Harrop May 6th with a car at the intersection of Maysville Avenue and Main Street.
Assistant Prosecutor Bob Smith says Hasselberger had her license suspended for life after she was convicted in 2002 of aggravated vehicular homicide after a she caused a fatal accident while driving under the influence. She was sentenced to four years in prison for that crime, but was granted early judicial release.
Judge Kelly Cottrill continued Hasselberger’s bond at $100,000.
