Women’s Scholarships Available

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Business and Professional Women’s Club has been awarding the Elliott Educational Scholarship to local women for 90 years.

Club President Stephanie Bridwell shared that the purpose of the scholarship is to help women over 21 further their careers.

“What we’re seeing is a lot of women who are changing careers,” Bridwell said. “Who are going back to school trying to get to that next level, that it hopefully helps make it a little easier for them to afford tuition. Especially if you’re working, there’s not  as many opportunities for older students.”

Bridwell says the application process is fairly simple and requires a short personal statement, a resume and the educational organization that will be providing the learning.

“This fund is perfect for people who need that next bit of information of like if you’re wanting to learn about AI or you need to do a continuing education class to keep a license. This is a perfect thing to do. Or if you want to try something new like public speaking this is a great way to test it without breaking the bank,” Bridwell said.

The applications can be found at Muskingum County Community Foundation’s Scholarship Central website and more information can be found by visiting the club’s social media page. The deadline for submission is April 20th.
