Wonetta Smith

Wonetta Cora Smith, 97, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 30, 1927, in Caldwell, Noble County, Ohio to the late Harry and Cora L. Crum Michel. She owned and operated Smith’s Custom Butchering for 35 years. Wonetta enjoyed gardening, canning, mowing grass and most of all, spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons: Mike (Molly) Smith and Larry Smith; three daughters: Sheila (Frank) Lorch, Marlene Kay (John) Shook and Charlene Fay Krier; four grandchildren: Angela (Andrew) Harris, Nathan Mack, Rob (Nichole) Shook and Anthony Shook; two great grandchildren: Trinity Shook and Cody Shook; sisters in law: Beverly Michel and Sophie Michel; her special four legged companion Annie; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Smith Jr., who passed away March 21, 1990; a son in law Phil Krier; and siblings: Victor Michel, Arthur Michel, Leo Michel, Roger Michel, Gerold Michel, Patricia Huck and Harold Michel.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8PM Friday, February 14, 2025, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be at noon, Saturday, February 15, in the Snouffer Chapel with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Forks Cemetery, Gratiot, Ohio.
