ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local organization raised money by holding a yard sale to support people in the community who need assistance.

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary held their annual yard sale, so they may provide Salvation Army with funds to keep assisting anyone who needs help. President Susan Stotts said this is just one out of many events where they gain money for the general fund.

“We’ve got a bunch of good women that believe in what the Salvation Army is doing,” Stotts said. “So we have things like this yard sale and different fundraising projects. We have a lot of fun doing them. We’re able to help the community by helping the Salvation Army and so that’s what we do.

Stotts said they hold various events throughout the year so they may fund Camp NEOSA, the children on the Angel tree who aren’t picked, and funds for repairs on equipment at the Salvation Army.

“It is really important that we get as many people here buying as we can,” Stotts said. “We try to keep the prices low, so people can afford it. So that helps people out that need things. Those of us like me who doesn’t really need anything we find things we want and that helps in so many ways.”

The yard sale started August 3, 2017 and will continue August 4, 2017 and August 5, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. until around 4:00 P.M. The yard sale is taking place at 803 Chester Street Zanesville Ohio.
