Z.A.A.P Artist Of The Month: Moone Stewart

Artist Of The Month 825x510

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This month’s Z.A.A.P artist of the month features the work of Moone Stewart.

Stewart said she connects with her work, and said it is therapeutic
to her. She said she does a lot of abstraction because of the amount of
time she spent in the woods as a child.

“My  work is therapeutic for me personally. I do a lot of
abstraction, I spent a lot of time in the woods as a child. I studied
the designs of the plants and things like that, and that’s where the
abstraction comes from. The rest is mainly emotional,” said Stewart.

Stewart said she typically uses acrylics or water colors but is
working right now on an upcycling project. She said it is very exciting
to be the featured artist of the month. Stewart is donating all of the
income from her work to Transitions Battered Women’s Shelter.

Stewart added “All the proceeds from my art is going to Transitions
Battered Woman’s Shelter, which I had to stay in as a child and I know
several woman who have too I thought it best to do a local charity.”

You can see Moone Stewart’s work at the Z.A.A.P Gallery from 5 to 8, for the First Friday Art Walk tomorrow.
