Z-ville Man Pleads Guilty in Wife’s Murder

A Zanesville man who originally pleaded not guilty in the death of his wife has changed his plea. The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says 24-year-old Dustin Cox Friday pled guilty to one count of murder and one count of tampering with evidence with a firearm specification in the death of 21-year-old Martisa Palmer.
Zanesville Police say they were called to 609 Pershing Road just before 3:30 am on December 31st, 2018 on a reported disturbance.
Zanesville Police discovered Palmer shot to death. Hours later police arrested Cox, who is Palmer’s husband.
Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleegle ordered a pre-sentence investigation and continued Cox’s bond at $1,000,000.
