ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Ohio University Zanesville and Zane State College held their annual Fall Fest to meet organizations from campus and beyond.

The event brought students of both universities on the campus green to meet university clubs and resources on Wednesday. The event also doubled as a career fair with tables ran by organizations from the Zanesville area.

“Whenever you’re choosing your career, you’re going to choose what you’re going to do the rest of your live and what you would be happy at. You know, and all our students they wait typically until senior year to try and decide like, weather they like, to do something or not,” said Summer Jacobs, the career development coordinator and adjunct instructor at Ohio University Zanesville. “So I’m trying to get students to start job shadowing, to start, you know, internshipping so that way by the time they’re ready to graduate they don’t have to waste their money on, you know, a degree that they aren’t wanting to technically go for.”

Fall Fest also included free food for those in attendance by Grillin’ Dave’s Style, free coffee from Grace and Grounds, and games for students to enjoy on a sunny day.

“It just feels amazing just getting to see my students and Zane State students really just coming together as a whole and having fun. You know we have all different kinds of activities out here. We have corn hole, volley ball, all different kinds of stuff and the students are able to just bond, you know,” Jacobs said.

Zane State University and Ohio University Zanesville also regularly hosts a similar event called Spring Fest in the spring semester for those who may have missed Wednesday’s event.
