Zane State College Offering Cannabis Education Program

ZANESVILLE, OH – Zane State College is launching a new online cannabis education and workforce development program in collaboration with Green Flower, a top provider in cannabis education.

This program aims to prepare individuals for careers in Ohio’s emerging cannabis industry, following the start of recreational cannabis sales in the state earlier this month.

“Now that cannabis is legal in Ohio, it is creating an absolute whirlwind of opportunity. At the same time, cannabis is extremely complex, it’s heavily regulated, and it’s a lot of competition for those jobs, licenses, and costumers. If you’re somebody who wants to be a professional or have a business in this industry, you need to understand the rules, the strategies, the compliance requirements, and all the details that are necessary to be successful in cannabis today,” CEO of Green Flower, Max Simon said.

This 9-week, fully online program includes specialized courses in Cannabis Cultivation, Retail and Extraction, and Product Development. These courses are designed to provide career opportunities in various aspects of the cannabis industry, from growing and selling to product innovation. Registration is currently open, with classes set to start on October 7th.

“It’s exciting. It’s nice to be a pioneer via community college doing this. We’re the first to offer these Green Flower certificates and we’re really excited for the opportunity it provides for our community members to explore different careers and really chart their own course,” President of Zane State, Dr. Chad Brown said.
