Zane State Hosts Third Annual Health Combine

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Zane State College welcomed nearly 80 students from Morgan High School and the Mid-East Career and Technology Center campuses in Buffalo and Zanesville for the third annual Health Combine.
The event on Friday, October 24, offered students an immersive, hands-on experience across a range of health-related areas of study, including:
• Health Information Management
• Medical Laboratory Technician
• Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Phlebotomy
• Physical Therapist Assistant
• Radiologic Technology
• Respiratory Care
• Social Work
Along with industry professionals from Genesis HealthCare System, Zane State College faculty members Helen Rollins, Victoria York, Charissa Huffman, Julia Warren, Stacie Curtis, John McKay, and Misty Hamilton led interactive sessions designed to introduce students to real-world scenarios in their respective fields.
“The Health Combine is a great showcase of Zane State’s health programs and a fantastic opportunity for area high school students to get a real-world idea of what it’s like to work in the health field,” said Mercedes Mathers, Director of Admissions at Zane State College. “It’s also an engaging way for students to explore the programs we offer and connect with our faculty and staff, giving them a small glimpse of what it’s like to be a student on our campus.”
Now in its third year, the Health Combine continues to strengthen partnerships between Zane State College and local high schools, inspiring future healthcare professionals through experiential learning and connection with college faculty. MVESC, SOCHE, and Genesis partner with Zane State College on the healthcare program for high school students, further expanding opportunities for collaboration and student engagement.
