Zanesvile Man Indicted On Murder Charges
An area man charged in the death of a Zanesville man was indicted Wednesday by a Muskingum County Grand Jury. 26-year-old Reese Bowers of Zanesville was indicted on two counts of murder with a firearm specification, one count each of voluntary manslaughter, having a weapon under disability and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Bowers was also indicted on one count of tampering with evidence. Zanesville Police Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says Bowers was arrested this past Saturday near Columbus by Whitehall Police in connection with the shooting death of 27-year-old Dajuan McKenzie on April 21st. Bowers remains in the Franklin County Jail. His arraignment is scheduled for next Wednesday in Muskingum County.
